There is clear evidence that discarded single-use carrier bags are accumulating in the environment. As a result, various plastic formulations have been developed which state they deteriorate faster and/or have fewer impacts on the environment because their persistence is shorter
Gulf Additives represent M/s. Wells Plastics Limited – Reverte Brand Biodegradable masterbatch in market of Oman and Qatar.
Bio-Degradable plastic is plastic which degrades under biological (mainly microbial) action. Some biodegradable plastics are compostable (but not all), which means they degrade under controlled conditions, such as those occurring at compost (or anaerobic digestion) sites.
The degradation process undergo in two steps, initially by an oxidation process that is promoted by the inclusion of pro-degradant additive & subsequently by biodegradation.
The addition of the M.B. to polyolefin promotes the degradation of the polyolefin under certain conditions to CO2, H2O & biomass.
